Cafe area for employees and guests of the Misumi Group, manufacturer and distributor of mechanical components. During the orientation, employees themselves requested for the place to be "connecting and energizing". Therefore we proposed a plan with many shelves formed by floor-to-ceiling intersected wooden poles and live plants across the floor plate.
These intersects represent the connection of people, at the same time giving a hint of the letter "M" for Misumi here and there.
By using shelves as bounderies, the floor is gently separated into different areas, from casual communication space to relaxed lounge area. In addition, we aimed to create a space that vividly expresses the corporate branding by selecting cogwheel-like tables and setting the material color scheme for an industrial feel.
